Cowlitz Food & Fuel Agreed Order and Cleanup Documents
We invite you to review and comment on the following documents.
Agreed Order DE 21413: Ecology is entering into a legal agreement with some of the potentially liable persons (PLPs) who are responsible for cleaning up the site. Theses PLPs are Texaco Inc, Exit 59 Food and Fuel LLC, and Candid Travel Center Land LLC. The agreement requires the PLPs to carry out the cleanup described in the Cleanup Action Plan.
Revised Feasibility Study: The study compares ways to cleanup the contamination.
Draft Cleanup Action Plan: The proposed plan is designed to cleanup petroleum-contaminated soil and groundwater at the site. Petroleum contamination in soil will be removed by excavation and off-site disposal. Groundwater contamination will be reduced by naturally occurring microbes breaking down the petroleum over time. Conditions at the site will be monitored to make sure the cleanup is successful. Institutional controls are proposed to make sure the cleanup is effective in the long-term.
State Environmental Policy Act Determination of Non-significance: The document describes Ecology's decision that cleanup activities are not likely to harm the environment.
